Airbag Recall
Unfolding a critical safety alert with cinematic clarity. I crafted a broadcast-style breakdown—combining geospatial visuals, motion-driven data layers, and infographic storytelling—to show why over 457,000 Ford & Mazda vehicles are under urgent “Do Not Drive” orders due to faulty Takata airbag inflators. Viewers get a real-time sense of the risk, the recall scale, and the stakes involved.
Problem
Despite being the largest automotive safety recall in U.S. history, millions of dangerous Takata airbag inflators still remain unrepaired, putting drivers at risk of catastrophic injury—even in minor collisions. Communicating this urgency with clarity and visual impact was the core challenge.
Solution
I developed a dynamic visual package that blends animated geospatial overlays with layered infographics—broken down by make, model, and urgency—to clearly illustrate the scope, human risk (27 deaths, 400+ injuries), and free remedy options. The result: a compelling, easy-to-understand call to action that empowers viewers to check their VINs, schedule repairs, and prioritize safety.
