Earthquake Risk
Shake up seismic storytelling! For KREM’s deep dive into Northwest earthquake risks, I built a suite of graphics—including a Google Earth Studio map and vector explainers—to make tectonic science engaging and accessible. With clean visuals and dynamic motion, viewers got a clear picture of how seismic forces shape the region.
Problem
Explaining complex geological risks like subduction zones, fault lines, and volcanic activity can feel abstract and overwhelming for general audiences. Traditional charts and static images often fail to capture scale, urgency, or geography.
Solution
I created a broadcast-ready package that combined Google Earth Studio mapping with custom vector diagrams, clearly illustrating tectonic plates, earthquake terminology, and seismic hazards. These visuals brought scientific depth to KREM’s coverage while keeping the story visually engaging and easy to understand.
