Relive the story of Baltimore’s Key Bridge collapse through a broadcast-ready explainer. Using Google Earth Studio and custom vector infographics, I built a dynamic package that traced the collision, broke down the scale of the disaster, and contextualized its impact for WUSA9’s coverage.
Problem
The Key Bridge collapse was a fast-moving, complex story involving engineering failures, shipping logistics, lawsuits, and rebuilding plans. Standard footage and static maps couldn’t capture the scale of the disaster or clearly explain why it happened and what came next.
Solution
I designed and animated a comprehensive visual explainer combining geospatial mapping with infographic storytelling. This approach distilled technical details into clear visuals, helping WUSA9 viewers understand both the tragedy and the broader implications for Baltimore and national infrastructure.
